Last year a study came out showing that autoimmune disease (celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, or rheumatoid arthritis) in the family increases the risk of autism with language regression. This could explain why some children with autism respond so well to a gluten-free diet. For more details, see my blog at: http://www.metametrixinstitute.org/post/2009/08/18/Autoimmunity-in-Autism-Spectrum-Disorders.aspx

I wish you would provide links to the study or studies you have mentioned. I also wish the mainstream media would actually investigate these studies and counterclaims.

Without knowing what movie I was going to see last night - Saw it and loved it! 'Adam' being an attractive fellow certainly made it more plausible. * I found myself thinking at one point that he and Patrick Dempsey have some physical similarities. Thinking further about it, Dempsey played the mentally challenged brother in 'Once and Again' (a series I rather enjoyed) before doing Grays Anatomy.
* Certainly not following the pack in movie plots, I really enjoyed the tugs at my heart and the chuckles of this movie and was somewhat saddened when it seemed to end way too soon. Well Done, Max!!! - Is there a sequel in the works?
